From 1–10 November, qujOchÖ is reclaiming public space in Linz for artistic expression and cultural visibility with a city-wide poster festival. Expect posters popping up all over the city — from hidden corners to heavily regulated zones.

The opening kicks off on Saturday, 1 November at 16:00 at LENTOS Freiraum with a poster treasure hunt, and continues from 19:00 at SIRUP with fun, drinks, and music.

Public space in Linz is becoming increasingly regulated. A new city ordinance has put an end to the long-standing and once-tolerated practice of wild postering — a shift that hits the cultural and artistic scenes hardest. Independent art and cultural initiatives, once a visible pulse of the city, are now pushed to the margins. What remains are commercial and political ads – those who can afford visibility. PLAKATropolis is our collective response to bring art back to the streets.
